| Sacramento Hustle Hustle is a dance that can stand on it's own, but it fits mostly with West Coast Swing and Latin/Ballroom groups as a rule. Nightclub music seems to be mostly WCS and Hustle with a little Latin mixed in as well. The Country/Western dances play some Hustle music as they do WCS. The Ballroom dances in town all play a mix of music which includes a hustle once in a while and most dancers here are aware of the basics at least, which is good. Some Hustle dancing in the Sacramento area also occurs at 'The Ballroom' on Thursday nights, the regular WC Swing night, from 8:30pm to 10:00pm or so. You can usually request a hustle and they usually will play it. The West Coast Swing dancing here in town includes a few hustles if you ask for them and it just depends on the music, ya know. Some will have that nice continuous beat and you can do both WCS and Hustle in the same dance with the same person....that's always fun. Also, normally on each Tuesday from 8pm to 11pm or so there is WCS dancing that occurs at 'The Clarion Inn' on Fulton Ave at Highway 80. They do play some Hustle music that conforms as well as WCS, NC2Step and a little country in there. Mike Pyle is the DJ for the next couple of months anyway...his music always includes Hustle but is a dance mostly for the Capital Swing group, although it is not an event that is sponsored by Capital Swing. It does occur on a regular basis though. Periodically, nightclubs in the Sacramento area have Disco/Hustle nights. If any of those clubs are having special months or even nights during the week, I will try to post that information here or create a special e-mail list to announce that information here. If you are aware of such a club, please let me know....thanks. We had tried to get some dancing that was hustle-related going at a local nightclub inside The Radisson, but it will take some time to make that happen me thinks.
