Lots of West Coast Swing dancers converge on this nightclub as early as 7:00pm for dancing on these Saturdays. (They play some Hustle music as well). Dani Canziani or Frank Carricato sends out an Email message about the accurate date each month. The date usually depends on when Conventions occur that coincide with having this dance. The cost is $3 to $5 at the door. |

Ultimate DanceSport Ballroom - 9181C Kiefer Blvd...(916-36-WALTZ) (916-369-2589) Dances occur on Fridays from 7:30pm to 11pm with a lesson at 7:30pm. Spotlight Ballroom - 646 North Market Blvd...(916-649-3269) Regular Dances occur on Friday and Saturday Nights. Check out their webpage above for times. Usually the Friday dance is for Beginning dancers and Saturday's dances cater more to the Intermediate dancer and above, but all are welcome. Barbara's 'Dancing Tonight' - 1921 Sycamore Lane (In Davis)...(916-756-8371) Practice Parties are every Friday night (excepting holidays), from 9pm to 11pm or 11:30pm and is located in Davis at 1921 Sycamore Lane. Go West on I-80, North on Highway 113 just past UC Davis, then East (right) on Covell. Turn right at the first signal and right again on Sycamore. The studio is basically on the corner. Barbara Francis is your host. She plays a mixture of Ballroom and Swing music. Tango By The River - 128 'J' Street, Old Sacramento...(916-443-7008) Argentine Tango dances occur usually every two weeks here. Classes and practice sessions are as shown on the webpage above. Let's Dance Ballroom Dance Club The dances occur at 'The Spotlight Ballroom' on North Market Blvd, just off Northgate Blvd, and south off Highway 80. They include a lesson from 7:30pm-8:30pm with general dancing until 11pm or sometimes a bit later. Membership is normally $20+ per year for a 'singles' membership. With a membership the dances cost a little less, too. (A Non-Profit Corporation). Capital Swing Dancers (Monthly West Coast Swing Dance) West Coast Swing dances occur on the 3rd Saturday of the month and are held in Fair Oaks now at Fair Oaks Community Center in the town of Fair Oaks just off Sunrise Blvd. Check Capital's webpage above for directions to the new location just started in 2006. The dance now occurs from 6:30 - 10:30pm. Workshops are normally held just before each dance and there is always a FREE beginner's WCS lesson for members of the club. Membership is about $30+yr (Single). Members from other Swing clubs receive the same discounts as CSD members at the workshops and dances. Linda Infante sometimes plays the music and there is normally some kind of WCS contest going on that night. Ballroom Dance Center - ...Call Ruby Campbell at (916-485-3500) for further information on where they go out dancing and/or where you can take lessons. The address shown for the BDC is now 4532 Arden Way which is Ruby's studio address. (fyi....I started taking lessons at this studio over 15 years ago. Wow, I must be really old. :-). The Club Capri - 7600 Fair Oaks Blvd - Weekly dancing on Wednesdays (916-971-9600) DJ Daryl Robin plays all kinds of Ballroom and Swing music on Wednesday nights. Location: Carmichael. The restaurant/nightclub is located just around the bend where Fair Oaks Blvd turns going East towards Sunrise Blvd. This is a regular meeting place for all ages of dancers. Dancing occurs 8:00pm to closing. 'Forever Dancing' - 2001 Arden Way - (916-491-5091). At the Highway 80 and Arden Way exit. (South side of Arden Way) inside the Doubletree Hotel. Sundays 7pm to midnight. Call for cover; but usually $5.00. Inside R. J. Grins...Mostly freestyle dancing where you meet and socialize. Dances occur on some Friday nights and are usually live bands. 7:00pm the lesson starts, and dancing is usually 8pm to 11pm or so. Call for information and schedule: (916-355-7285).
